The person receiving the disclosure has a number of expectations for an objective and professional approach, including:
- Protecting the Discloser’s right to remain anonymous
- Protecting the Discloser’s right to retain the confidentiality of the disclosure
- Obtaining sufficient, relevant, accurate and reliable information during the disclosure process
- Providing information to the nominated party that protects anonymity and/or confidentiality of the Discloser
- Identifying and addressing any actual or perceived conflict of interest
- Protect the Discloser from retaliation
